Membership is open to all persons that support the Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) . Membership of the United States Association of Blind Athletes is required to receive all financial scholarships or to set up a Personal Athletic Account. Information on Athlete Sub-Accounting

Athletic Sub Account:

NWABA offers sub-accounts for athletes to deposit money into for there sporting events. When the athlete needs money for traveling, entry fees, coaching, equipment, etc, all he/she have to do is contact the NWABA Regional Programs Director; we will send off a check to the athletes address within seven business days

Reminder: When sending in money to NWABA, remember to indicate which athlete its for. It is a good idea to have your supporters write checks to NWABA with the athletes name in the “for or memo" line.

Scholarship Policy:

The Northwest Association for Blind Athletes shall award scholarships to individuals who will compete in, host or promote local, regional, national or international competitions.

Eligibility:

  • All applicants must be blind or visually impaired.

  • All applicants must be members of NWABA (Northwest Association for Blind Athletes) and USABA, (United States Association of Blind Athletes.

  • Recipients of NWABA scholarships must participate in specified events for which funding is requested.

  • Failure to do so will result in the applicant being required to return all funding to NWABA. Failure to return funding will result in referral to collection agency.

  • Consideration of requests shall be made without discrimination on the basis of race, color, culture, gender, or religion.

  • A member of the board of directors may apply for a scholarship, however they will be excluded from the "decision making" process.
