Vision: To offer athletic opportunities to all blind and visually impaired athletes in Washington, Oregon, Idaho & Montana.

 

Mission: The Mission of the Northwest Association for Blind Athletes (NWABA) is to encourage blind and visually impaired athletes to participate in sporting programs. This will be accomplished by giving out scholarships to our members, and organizing regional sports teams. NWABA will support athletes of all ages without regard to race or religion.

 

Values:

  1. Development of sports programs for all blind and visually impaired individuals in the Northwest.

  2. Use resources to best serve our members.

  3. Development of partnerships with other organizations.

  4. Communication with our national organization - United States Association of Blind Athletes

  5. Challenge our athletes to follow their athletic dreams.

The Northwest Association for Blind Athletes is proud to announce our regional Powerlifting team has just returned from the WABDL IronGladitors Record Breakers Bench Press and Deadlift Championships.

 

The team comprised of Billy Henry – coach, Jesse Curtis, Nick Wilks, Rachel Talley and Arlando Hicks did phenomenally, Taking 10 first place trophies, nearly 15 records as well as placing 4th as a team these athletes really showed what they were made of.

“Everyone on the team did wonderfully, I’m proud of each of them, we trained hard, and our results proved that” – Said Billy Henry, Powerlifting Coach.

 

The team was accompanied by supporters that cheered us on throughout the whole meet, Thank you to everyone who supported us financially, and at the meet – we wouldn’t be where we are without your support.
